Brian, was born in the west end Tkaronto along the historic Humber River. A neighborhood known for its rich indigenous history but also, its dark past. Brian growing up was known for his outspoken opinion on black and indigenous injustice in the community and while advocating for gun change and police accountability such as the “stop and frisk” policies in the city. Brian pushes for change in society through community activism and communal outreach. Brian is the Descendant of Afro-Carib parents, Brian “Running water” is proud to preserve history and culture through food, song and dance while navigating life through the black lens.
